A Truly 'Relentless' Weekend Ahead

The line up for Relentless this weekend is quite something ... and that's before you get us started on the quality bands for the Leeds and Reading rock festivals (...as sponsored by Relentless!) Beyond the Chillies, Fall Out Boy, Razorlight and co ... we've got surf, wake, ski, BMX, MX and motorsport supersport action all on top... seriously this bank holiday ain't no holiday at all. It's an adrenalin fueled banquet of core sport and rock action! If you're in the neighbourhood, come say hello at any of these gems of core sport and rock... we'll be waitin'

Reading & Leeds.jpg

Stop 1 - Reading Rock Festival. Look out for the campsite can. Should be easy to find amongst the 200,000 revellers descending on the town. Right .... Failing that, we'll see you stage side in the mosh! Our only concern ... just too many bands, too few pairs of feet to cover the ground to see them all...

PICT0510.JPG

Stop 2 - Leeds Rock Festival. Another 120,000 over 3 days. And ahh the 24hr zone to recharge or stay on it. Your call. And with so many stages, that big dilemma ... how to be in 2 places at once ... next years challenge to overcome for sure.

IMG_1843.jpg

IMG_1857.jpg

Stop 3 - The MX British GP at Donnington Park - race day Sunday. Relentless Suzuki, the Swift Boys and Billy Mac all sponsored by Relentless and gunning for international honours in front of 50,000. Not to be missed.

Billy aerial Phat.jpg

Stop 4 - Cadwell Park and the British Superbike Champs (you guessed it as sponsored by Relentless - race day Monday. Our boys Ian Lowry and Michael Laverty running 1 and 2 in the Supersport class. Lots to be there for - and these TAS boys know how to make it interesting. A quality day of Relentless racing guaranteed.

Thruxton IL.jpg

Stop 5 - The Liquid Leisure Night Jump in Datchet - sunday night. Man was not built to fly?... try telling that to this crew. 70mph into a ramp on a set of sticks. Sure it's water ... but at that speed from these heights ... it's concrete. No Half Measures in deed. And lots of juice, a wakeboard big air comp and no doubt a phat party to match ... big Stu knows how to throw em.

Wake Jonty NightJumpJG.jpg

Stop 6 - the Princes Pro Am - finals Sunday. The best waterski slalomers in the world arrive in our back yard. Our boy Mr Larkin ready to do the business. All that squash training to pay dividends eh Az??? .... and you know I trained you hard. ;-) There's also a little floodlit action on the cable Friday night with the local wakeboarding crew primed and ready for action. Young Relentless rider Nick Davies contemplating the big 12... get in there son!

Event Full Stretch Princes Aaron at 5 Ball Hard.jpg

Stop 7 - the British BMX Champs from Burnham on Sea - Saturday.Sunday competitions. Our boy George has pulled himself off his recovery bed (shoulder pinned with 5 screws no less) to get down to activate this one. Relentless sponsorship and Relentless riding for sure.

0431.jpg

Stop 8 - The BPSA Surf Tour comes to Bude. Skills grooved in Newquay given a second airing. Now for that wave dance...

sarahsrilanka.jpg

Ahhh a magnificent .... uhhh 8 ... poingnant. Emotional. And that's before we kick it all off.

Well given the amount of miles will be covering to activate the brand it's a good job we've got the juice to keep us on it! And the new Inferno at that ... we'll be waiting with a chilled one. See you then.

GREGORY & SNOW RELENTLESS AT BRAMPTON

IMG_8214_resize.JPG

It was a weekend of top-ten action for the Team 'Relentless' Suzuki riders at Brampton in Cumbria this weekend, as round seven of the British Championship commenced.

With all three team riders looking for championship progress, Alex Snow was the first to climb into the points, riding strongly and consistently in race one to cross the line in eighth spot.

Team-mate Lewis Gregory had even higher hopes early in the first race, gating well and chasing down the eventual podium sitters, before becoming stuck in a mud-hole and dropping to 12th place by the flag. Despite encouraging progress, Jamie Law crashed out of race one and never quite managed to regain composure.

Race two was to see a reverse of fate for Snow and Gregory, after Alex damaged his gear lever in a rut and dropped to 22nd by the finish line. An improved start in race two saw Lewis at the sharp end of the race, before a small slip saw him cross the line in eighth position.

Team manager Rob Hooper commented, “Despite a few set-backs it was an encouraging weekend for us. Jamie’s crash didn’t help his confidents, but Alex and Lewis showed they have the speed, and can run at the sharp end of what is a fiercely competitive class this year.

As well as competition in the British Championship, Lewis and Alex competed in the UK Floodlit Motocross Series at Hopwood Park last Wednesday taking the overall win and third place respectively.

And at schoolboy level, Relentless Suzuki supported rider Ben Field became the BSMA Senior Final Champion, following four wins and a third place result at the Brookthorpe circuit.

The 'Relentless' No Half Measures Wakeboard Tour, from London to MK to Birmingham to Wakestock

Team Stretch

Well it’s been a long but amazing week and apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Lack of internet access on the road has made it all a little tricky to keep you all updated! Never fear however because right now we're here to regale you with the tales from the road and bring you up to speed with everything that went down. The riding, the parties, the high’s and low’s and of course Wakestock!

Nick Davies Wake MK

Last time we posted we had just left the crew heading up to Milton Keynes. A good session was had before sneaking over to the Sno!Zone and the Air Kix skydive simulator. We knew they were going but us office monkeys had to step up to our responsibilities at the office, sooooooo jealous as been their so many times but not had a go! We sponsor the venue so they were more than happy to let our entire crew, filmers and photogs all have a crack! Big Up Xscape and all involved.

Jonty Flying

Flying Team

That night the bus made its way to Tamworth and the legendary Ten-80. However there was a little drama on the way as the bus broke down! After a quick game of poker and some quick repairs the guys were back on the road unscathed.

Poker on M6

Break down on M6

On arrival the tour was met by Aussie Scotty Broome who then showed a bit of his antipodean style. Scotty is a great guy and has been around for a while and knows a thing or two about the game making him a great asset for the tour. After a great session with Scotty taking the yellow jersey the boys got ready for a deserved night out. Thanks go out to Oli at Ten-80 for looking after us all with his generous hospitality.

Scotty Broome

Sam Carne

James met back up with the boys in the Birmingham hotspot, the Cotton Club, where they were surrounded by the local talent. It’s amazing what a bit of blond hair and some chiseled biceps can do! (must get down the gym Rodders was heard to say!)

Rider Lounge

Wednesday was a travel day as the journey to Abersoch and Wakestock is a bit of a trek. On arrival the weather was a little blowy so we called off the practice session and went for a good meal and an early night ready for Thursdays practice.

din dins

Thursday was practice for everyone but it did mean a bit of waiting around as there was one boat for all entrants. The guys all did their practice runs while the rest of the Relentless crew got busy at Wakestock and the surrounding areas! Big up the rep teams for their No Half Measures job. If you didn’t see Relentless at this one you may need to get your eyes tested.

Relentless Mudstache

Matt backflip

On to Friday and qualifiers. All our guys were pre qualified so once again today was another waiting game. We mainly chilled around site whilst physio and nutritionist Shannon eased any aches and pains out of the guys, all the time making sure they ate correctly. All the boys took it easy on Friday night even though there was the Wakestock madness going on all around them. James, however, did sneak over to the covered stage to hear Mark Ronson who was pretty fine. Something we've have forgotten to mention was the torrential rain that hit the site that day. Wow, it really was a lot (as national news reports have since highlighted!) and although it did not deter the festival revelers you could sense there may be trouble the next day.

Nick flip

We all woke up to rumours of the festival being cancelled and unfortunately after some calls to production the rumours were true. Gutted! However rain is not going to affect wakeboarding so the wake comp still took place. This was where we would find out how the tour had helped the crew. The answer was YES YES YES. Although we did not get top spot Jonty Green rode sooooo well and took second and had he landed his attempted 720 he would have had the win. He just misjudged the take off and mid spin had to convert back to a 540 which he stomped. This is a super hard thing to do so props to Jonty for fixing it! In third was tour rider James Young, whose attitude the entire week was outstanding. James has a big future ahead of him (and admittedly already a pretty phat present!).

slider

A quick mention for Nick Davies who went into the finals as a favourite but unfortunately fell on a couple of tricks. Most uncharacteristic of the Princes flyer! Goes without saying the man is a natural on a wakeboard and will be back another day! After some team signings, some further outstanding chat on the mic from Relentless pro Mr Crowhurst and his right hand man Mouse, there was prize giving and then it was back to the bus to get ready for the night ahead.

signing.jpg

With the main event done and dusted it was time to celebrate and where else but 5 degrees. The drinks (RV’s) flowed and everyone had a good time. It didn’t matter that the music event had been cancelled. The entire wakeboard scene was in one area having a blast.

Mark Rossiter

Sunday was the last day on tour before heading back down to the London area. Before the bus cranked for the last time the guys went out and hit the pool gap in what was a killer session. Tour Manager Matt Crowhurst ruled the session which I thought was pretty fitting after all his hard work martialling the troops all week..

Matt poolgap

Massive thanks got to all the riders including Nick Davies, Jonty Green, Matt Crowhurst, Sam Carne, Lewis Cornwall, James Young, Dom Hatcher, Scotty Broome, Mark Rossiter, MC Mouse, photographer Steve Harwood, Physio/nutritionist Neil Shannon and filmers Jon and Fraser. We could not have asked for a better crew! Thanks from Relentless and see you all again next year to rerun the fun. Time to go looking for an even bigger bus ... tell us, what did they do with the space shuttle when it's not out there doing its thing?

THE 'RELENTLESS' SUZUKI BY TAS BOYS NAIL IT AT MALLORY

logo.jpg

DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR RELENTLESS SUZUKI IN MALLORY ‘ONE –TWO’
________________________________________
The guys' official repot from the weekend makes sweet reading.... check out http://www.relentless-suzuki.com for the full run down and photo action from the weekend!

It was lucky number ‘13’ today for the Relentless Suzuki British Supersport team, when Michael Laverty and Ian Lowry collected champagne bottles number 12 and 13 for the season to date at Mallory Park. Laverty stalked both Lowry and early race leader Dennis Hobbs for just over two-thirds distance, before pulling the pin to take the hard-fought victory. Lowry, who himself lead the race for three laps, rode superbly holding off Dennis Hobbs to take second place and 20 very valuable championship points.

Michael Laverty
“I didn’t push too hard too soon today as I wasn’t sure how the tyres would last due to the lack of practice this weekend, and to be totally honest I was cruising in the early stages. Halfway through the race I did make a move on Dennis but he ran me wide and that let Ian through as well. After that I pressed on and took the lead. I was able to gap both Ian and Dennis which left it comfortable for me at the end of the race. I’m happy with that performance, which to be fair to the boys in the team, was won in the garage. I really do have to thank the team today, and with a three week break before the next round I think I have stamped my authority on the championship.”

Laverty.jpg

Ian Lowry
“I got away in about fifth place, but when I got past Jamie Robinson I was able to settle down into a pace that I was comfortable with. I put in a pretty good lap about mid distance and I was planning a move on Michael. At the same time Michael was trying to get past Dennis, they both ran wide and I nipped into the lead. I think I lead for about four laps but when Michael hit the front he was able to pull a gap over us, and in the end he got through the backmarkers better than me. My GSX–R600 Relentless Suzuki and Pirelli tyre combination was great today, thanks to the hard work by the team prior to the race. It’s great to be back on the podium after the past couple of rounds, but it was very physical here today – I’m knackered! I think some time in the gym will do no harm before the next round at Croft.”

Philip Neill – Team Principal
“I’ve said it before I know, but it just can’t get any better than this. It has been quite a season. This is the second one-two we have posted this year, seriously proving the capabilities of the GSX–R600 Suzuki in this class. Michael also went within a whisker of the lap record here today when posting the fastest lap of the race, but despite comments being made about the lack of lap records being broken this season, they don’t win you a championship.

The weekend initially looked like a non-starter due to the atrocious weather conditions, so to bring the boys home on the first two steps of the podium is testament to the team effort going on within our garage. Other than the warm-up this morning no one had time to find the perfect set-up. Thankfully we were able to use our 2006 information as a guide and it worked perfectly.

With only four rounds left, and with the form that Michael Laverty is currently showing, it would be crazy for us not to be hopeful of success although nothing can be taken for granted. Michael is not only showing his ability on a motorcycle this season, his experience is also allowing him to attack at just the right time.

Ian is just getting better and better and he should be very proud of himself. He is up against two other riders fighting for the championship, and they have much more experience than he has. I’m also very pleased he had the foresight to ride within his limits, producing an almost flawless performance this weekend.

As always our sponsors play a very important role, and the biggest thanks today must go to Pirelli who helped us make the right choice for the conditions. Michael did a race simulation this morning and Pirelli pulled the tyres out of the bag – superb. Thanks as always to Relentless, Beacon Security, Putoline Lubricants, WP Suspension and of course Suzuki.

Condolences to the Bridewell Family
On behalf of everyone at Relentless Suzuki and TAS Racing, I would like to offer my sincere condolences, both to NB Racing and of course the Bridewell family circle, after Friday’s tragic circumstances when Ollie very sadly lost his life. Our thoughts are with you all at this very tough time.”

'Relentless' No Half Measures Wakeboard Tour Diary Entry Days 1-3

Inspiration and improvement .... welcome to the Relentless No Half Measures Wakeboard Tour 2007! Well it all kicked off at the Quays Nightmare Slider Comp. First stop in what is to be a week long journey around the country ending at the UK's premier wakeboard comp, Wakestock.

bus crew

On tour are some of the leading riders and personalties in the UK wakeboard scene. we won't embarass them by throwing out a list of names but you know who they are ... they've been talking about this gig for weeks!!! Also on tour to document and added the professional touch to the week is Steve Harwood and Grain Media as well as physio and nutritionist the task master himself, Mr Neil Shannon.

massage

The Quays Slider comp commenced with qualifiers at 6pm before finals at 10 pm in the dark illuminated by lighting rigs on the banks. For the crowd the rail looked great but it seemed to be a different stroy for the riders who found it tricky to spot the take off! Well its the same for everyone and only goes to highlight their skills. As we like to say, No Half Measures and as Relentless were providing the £600 prize money, bring it on!

Cons

All the riders were having a good crack and from our crew it was Jonty, James and Matt Crowhurst pushing the hardest. Unfortunately they did not make the podium but a great time was had by all at the event, which was, by the way, fancy dress. The Relentless Tour Convicts made a huge impact and then proceeded to have a ball. Sorry bus driver Chris if we kept you up at all, won't happen again!

bye bye lewis

The next morning was an early start as the Tour Bus departed at 7am to go to Princes Club for an 8am boat session. Shannon woke the lads up with a healthy breakfast and a can of the good stuff to get them fired up for the forthcoming session. However there was of course time to lob birthday boy Lewis Cornwall into the drink! haha!

Dom Hatcher

After a little bit of boat trouble the session was fully in swing and all the boys were ripping. It was at this point the best session yellow jersey was introduced. The yellow jersey is awarded for best session but the criteria is not just best riding but best attitude and commitment. Basically the core philosophies of Relentless. In the running for this session were two cable experts Lewis Cornwall and Dom Hatcher who both showed the courage to really try and improve their boat skill and were not scared to learn. Lewis laid down a few untried tricks while Dom went down real hard in one of his sets but not before he tweaked out a few mighty bat wings! In the end however it was Jonty Green who took the yellow jersey with sets that involved new tricks, big slams and an energy and striving for results that was clear for all to see. Nice one Jonty, see how long you can hold onto it!

jonty

After lunch it was off to Oxford and the Annual Oxford Wakeboard Club Event. This turned out to be a really chilled session and of course our lads came out on top. Nick Davies took home the win with Jonty and James in second and third! Once again their was a little party before bed time! It was lewis' birthday so i guess its allowed! Just don't ever ask James Young for one of his yet to be named cocktails unless you have the sweetest tooth known to man.

party fires

Another early start and the boys had a ride at Oxford before heading back to Princes for a rest before taking on an evening double up session. Night riders every man...

grand air

This morning kicked off at 6.30 for some dawny photo opps and at present the team is on the motorway heading to Milton Keynes for another ride before they will hit up the Sno!Zone at Xscape and try a little cross over action. Looking forward to seeing how they go and will report back later. Hopefully tomorrow. Later. R.

'Relentless' No Half Measures BMX Tour Diary

Well we couldn't let the tour end without sharing a few photo pleasures and the diary from the road. Look out for the full video run down on Extreme TV in August but for now have some of this - the full No Half Measures BMX Tour diary 2007.

Tour Crew

The Relentless No Half Measures BMX Tour took place last week across England before finally arriving at NASS at the weekend where the Tour riders competed after an intense week of riding!

The tour crew at this stage included Zac Shaw, Anthony Pill, Kyle Blake, Tony Watkinson, Shaun Eglington, Cameron Hardy, photog Chris Woodage and Filmers Jon and Fraser and of course initial tour manager, Lynchie!
After some merriment at the DC party in Shoreditch and a 4 hour coach journey up north, the team were already onto nickname allocations and each individual's place on the tour was taking form…

Zach Shaw

Vert rider Zach Shaw (X Games competitor) was heading the team as a mentor. As Team Manager for VANS and over 26 years experience of the sport, Zach could lend his industry savvy to the youngsters and encourage confidence in front of the cameras.

Anthony Pill

Anthony Pill is an unparalleled trickster on the mini ramp – lapping up the applause at the 4 venues visited in that first weekend – The Works, Interact, Stoke Plaza and Epic. An experienced rider with vast knowledge of the UK's parks and tours, Antony offered anecdotes and showmanship that contributed hugely to the atmosphere on the road.

Tony Watkinson

Tony Watkinson, 18 from Liverpool, was constantly riding throughout the weekend, first on his bike at the outdoor parks, displaying the new school style that is filtering through the industry – part of a new generation of BMXer's determined to be part of the sport's growth and recognition.

Cam Hardy

Cam Hardy age 19 from Hampshire has already been on a couple of tours but completely saw the week ahead as a new challenge and opportunity. Cam has a totally unique style of riding. He doesn't ride to compete or for show, he rides for himself and his distinctive style comes completely from within. Riders with twice as many years experience under their belts would find it hard to incorporate as much charisma into their tricks as Cam exhibits so effortlessly.

Kyle Blake

Kyle Blake, 17, has been riding with Mark Webb since he started BMX. His style is similar to Mark's in that he will take on a course fearlessly and attempt the impossible. Kyle's biggest agenda was nailing a double tail whip air by the end of the week!

Shaun Eglington

Shaun Eglington aka 'the Knowledge' due to a larger portfolio of facts than google.co.uk, Shaun, Relentless rider and reputable vert challenger, a one-of-a-kind passionate BMX'er who's taken some of the UK's most insane falls but always bounced back up – onto his bike.

Monday on tour Rodders joined the group and here offers his account of the week….
Monday kicked off with an early start as the bus made its way to Adrenalin Alley in Corby. The Alley is considered one the best parks in the UK for BMX and also has the added benefits of a foam pit and the only resi jump (soft landing) in the UK. All the boys were stoked to get there and played on the two training jumps for most of the day. Think triple whips, front flips and even the self titled Zakflip form the original inventor Zac Shaw. He actually learnt the trick on dirt but was quite happy to demonstrate in the foam on the day!

Mark Webb

That night the crew all went out for dinner in a local Corby pub before heading over to a comedy night down the road and a late night session back at the skate park! Great night had by all with the potential of a few fuzzy heads for the trip down to London the next day!

Tuesday and once again an early start was needed to head down to London. The bus pulled away whilst the lads slept and were only awoken on arrival at the UK's newest and best concrete park at Saffron Walden. All the lads got up to session the dream park with standouts including Zac, who was loving the deep bowl and Anthony Pill whos tech tricks were wowing even the rest of the crew. Unfortunately the rain came AGAIN and we had to leave for Bay 66 skate park.

Saffron Walden

On arrival at Bay 66 we had the park to ourselves for an hour, which was great as it's a busy place so the guys got to really see what they place had. Cameron and Pill were having a lot of fun in the bowl area as was Shaun Eglington who was really excited to ride the place to himself. Shaun and Zac then had a session on the Vert ramp which took us to the end of the day.

After dragging the boys away it was into Earls Court and dinner at Bistro Benito, a great Italian Restaurant recommended by Pill. We were really looked after in there and had to actually stop the waiters from giving us any more Lemoncello! (its hard because it really is delicious?) Once again feeling truly fed and watered it was back to the tour bus for some needed sleep!

Tweaking

After 4 days of intense riding a day off was in order so the bus set off early Wednesday morning to Bournemouth where the boys had to get to the Hot Wheels office to fix or replace their bikes. Kyle Blake's bike was actually snapped so he was delighted to finally get there and pick up a new set up! It was here that Phil Aller joined the tour. He is such a god rider to watch and just loves riding his bike. As soon as he arrived at the factory he grabbed a stock conveyor belt and started riding it when turned on. Bunny hops on to manuals to 180 bar spins off. Was fun to watch. In the meantime Kyle and Tony both won tenners by bunny hop whipping a mini bike! Kyle made it second go!

We had planned to go surf or go go-carting in the afternoon but this was smashed as the go cart track had closed and the waves had dropped from earlier in the morning! Everyone was happy though just to chill and relax. Suddenly a phone call alerted the crew that Mark Webb, after a shocking weekend including British Airways losing his bike and tonsillitis, had just arrived at Bournemouths Kings Park Skatepark and was itching to ride. Kyle and Phil went to find him and rode one of the best sessions of the tour! They all had new bikes but the increasing crowd would never have known! After this session and Mark and Phils arrival there was a new energy about the tour and everyone was excited about Bristol and Motion Skatepark the next day!

Cam High Jump

The bus left at a leisurely 11am after showers and breakfast for the boys and rolled up to Motion at around 3.30 just in time for a warm up and then a sick session for the locals to gawp at! It really was jaw dropping some of the stuff and only got better during the cash jam. Obstacles destroyed included the mini spine and the jump box which also saw action from the public and then a high jump comp. The local kids in the park were killing themselves to impress the tour riders, who also hit the high jump to prove they could! Even big Shaun cleared it easily!
After the Bristol session the bus departed so we could get into NASS early and set up!

Cam

After waking up at NASS the lads wanted to head back up to Corby where they could practice again before the comps the next day! Webby wanted a flat spin 900 and Cam wanted to perfect a trick I can't even describe let alone name. Ask him when you see him! After the foam pit they all hit the resi jumpbox in what was a ridiculous final shred. Webb was triple whipping and flip whipping while Kyle was 360 whipping smooth as you like! It was a pretty sick if long trip (traffic jams are rubbish) and was attended by the tour riders and filmers and guests Robin Fenlon and C4 filmers. Anyway all the boys were ready for the comps the next day!

Saturday morning and the event was on. Early nights had been had by all ready to focus but had it paid off? Yes it had. Phil, Mark, Cam and Ky all qualified for the street final while webb destroyed the challengers in the Cruzer tour Qualifiers! Once again it was early to bed whilst the revelers enjoyed some great hospitality in the Relentless riders Lounge!

Phil Aller

Sunday was the day or reckoning and would it be what we all wanted and needed? Yes it was all good! Webb, although saying he did not ride well won the cruzer leg and has now probably won the entire thing, earning himself a car. He also came 3rd in the street only beaten by Dan Dhers of Venezuela and an insane Ben Hennen who really went bigger that anyone else on the day!

Webby

So that's that and see you next year, I'm going to bed!

'Relentless' & The No Half Measures BMX Tour Hit NASS

On the back of a week on the bikes as part of the No Half Measures BMX mobile training tour, the crew landed in Shepton Mallet primed and ready to play. Well almost ... a quick sejour to Corby for Mr Webb to dial down something suitably insane in the foam pit for Saturday and then they were ready!

For the duration of NASS the BMX boys and all other athletes competing were treated to some No Half Measures athlete hospitality within the Relentless Athletes lounge ... plenty of our juice, a steady supply of Nandos and some pumping tracks to keep the guys on it. All against an inspirational backdrop of suitable Relentless artistry and decor.

Laverty Back In Business At Knockhill

Relentless

Michael Laverty got back to winning ways at Knockhill in Scotland on his Pirelli shod Relentless Suzuki, increasing his lead in the Maxxis British Supersport championship to 19 points over team-mate Ian Lowry, who finished fifth at the end of 20 laps in changeable conditions.

Only two weeks ago at Mondello Park in Ireland, Laverty was robbed of his perfect 'podium at every round' record, but the normally mild-mannered Toomebridge man said the gloves would be off for the rest of the season. Having topped all but one leaderboard all weekend, Laverty was nothing short of prolific, and a shrewd tyre choice [full wet set-up] on the grid for the race certainly helped his cause.

Michael Laverty
"If I hadn't won this weekend I would have been really disappointed. I felt I should have won at Mondello and we all know why I didn't! I felt strong all weekend here at Knockhill and the combination of Suzuki, Pirelli and WP Suspension worked perfectly for me, but the conditions today could have come down to a lottery type tyre choice. I had pretty much made up my mind on a dry set-up, as I haven't got that much experience with the Pirelli wet tyres, but Philip Neill suggested I use a hard compound wet instead – it was a good decision. I'm pretty easy on the throttle and I didn't push too hard too soon; I just stayed as smooth as I could. With four laps to go I had a good gap and decided to give them a bit of stick and enjoyed the win. I've gapped the rest in the championship again so I'll leave Scotland in a good frame of mind."

Laverty

Ian Lowry
"It went ok. I'm happy enough to take the points this weekend in the conditions. I was losing a lot of time in the third sector but with a couple of laps to go I actually thought I could have had second place. Unfortunately I'd used the best of my wet tyre by then, and I got mugged by the boys using a dry set-up at the end. I am disappointed at missing out on a podium but every rider has a bad day and I'm still in second place in the championship. The team did a great job for me as they always do and I can't fault our set-up, it was just one of those weekends. Roll on Oulton Park."

Philip Neill – Team Principal
"It looked at one stage like we might not get to race this weekend with the torrential rain on Sunday, so a big 'hats off' to the organisers for keeping everything running and getting us out on track. It was certainly a tough day in the changeable conditions and it got to the stage where I thought, no tyre choice would be the correct one! I actually enjoy these situations as the whole team come into play, but I'll take nothing away from Michael's performance – he was simply outstanding. Some of the guys on the grid thought we were mad running full wets but a big thank you to Pirelli who certainly make the best tyres for these conditions. Michael did everything correctly: he took the lead and built up a gap that the rest couldn't match. Ian maybe didn't handle his wet tyre just as well as Michael, but to be fair to him, he had to battle out there in a group, whereas Michael was able to dictate his own pace and stayed smooth. Again Suzuki have proved how reliable and competitive the GSX–R600 really is, but I must also thank WP Suspension and Pirelli who completed the winning package for us this weekend. This week we go to Croft and Mallory for a week of testing, as I want to give both riders every opportunity to keep the pressure on our rivals.

What A Few Weeks For The 'Relentless' Crew

Well the team has been busy and then some.... and the results ... simply awesome! A quick run down of the highlights for you all includes...

Bruce 'Almighty' Anstey nailed the Superstock class at the TT and 'Archie' Adrian Archibald, 3 times previous winner came away with his fastest ever lap time and superb 4th Place in the Senior Superbike race... you had to be there. Unreal No Half Measures action. Massive respect to the 'Relentless Suzuki' TAS outfit.

The TT Line Up.jpg

A Bruce readying.jpg

Winning Bike.jpg

Meanwhile the MX 'Relentless Suzuki' boys have simply been going off. Jamie Law has been fighting off a shoulder injury to soldier on and hold down second spot in the British U21 class. Lewis Gregory, on the back of his fantastic result in Sweden, has been showing a real turn of speed and serving up the odd spectacular off to keep us all on the edge of our seats (Langrish was a close call but fortunately for our boy one he doesn't really remember!). Young Alex Snow had a cracking ride in Spain at the Alhama De Murcia track bringing home a 9th in race 2 just behind Lewis' 5th. Sean Hamblin and Elliott Banks Brown, riding for the Relentless sponsored Swift Suzuki Team, have found some real speed out on the GP circuit for sure and at Langrish they were definitely on it. And lastly Mr Mac, Mr 211, enough said, the boy's on fire.

A Billy.jpg

But the pros aside, the star on the track last week was 'Relentless Suzuki Academy' rider Luke Dean who became the All British Small Wheel 85cc Champion after a hectic weekend of racing at the event at Brookthorpe in Gloucestershire. Here's the future guys, here's the future...

Away from the track, last weekend also served up the Relentless Wakeboard Cable Nationals on our home turf at Princes. With the sun beating down, the jolly juice flowing and Relentless Mr Crowhurst on the mike it was down to the 60 entrants to do their thing. Step up Mr Nick Davies, a double S bend to blind 'BEFORE' the first corner and finishing with a monster 7. Game over. That said there was just time for Relentless' other own Mr Jonty Green to make the judges pause for thought with his usual phat off axis 5 and pretty much everything tweaked out. 1 and 2. So what was it Mr Davies had on his helmet? What was he downing by the bucketload ahead of his sets ... you know it.

PS James - mate, I'm not sure ripping the sleeves off does make 'your' guns look any bigger...

The Kennedy International 2007 North West 200

Well, I thought I was a man of the world. Rugby league, UFC, the TT all defined hardcore in my book. But honestly none of these had really prepared me for the NW200 at the weekend just passed. 200mph, on 2 wheels, on standard tarmac roads, 6m wide at best, through the town, 100,000 people screaming like banshees, your competitors slipstreaming you for all their worth ! I'd never seen anything like it. Never.

Motorbike websites the world over have the full run down on results trackside. And our team site http://www.relentless-suzuki.com has our guys view on this, a genuine festival of racing. Be sure to check em out - particularly the very cool Relentless Suzuki Superbike from the TAS boyz, all in lapsed time photography, to be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/tv/nw200/video1.shtml. From us for now, respect to the Relentless Suzuki team, on our knees in front of the god that is Mr Bruce Anstey, and a big thankyou to one and all for the warm Irish hospitality we experienced in Portstewart, notably in that crazy house that is the Anchor Bar! Find below a few memories from Saturday ... those that we remember anyway, before the celebratory Guiness kicked in and it all went a wee bit hazy.... 10 pictures that say a little but certainly not all. For that you have to make the trip. We'll see you there in 2008....

NW1.jpg
The crowds rolled in early on race day ... very early ... (i.e. we were just leaving the Anchor Pub!)...

NW2.jpg
Mobbed at the Relentless Suzuki stand!

Mr Anstey takes his second of the day. 196mph through the speed trap!

NW9.jpg
The Legend himself. A second and 3 wins on the day. Oh and all after a nasty high side in race one.
Relentless.

What a day. WHAT a day.

The NW200 - pure Relentless - the living definition of No Half Measures - and then, honestly, maybe a bit more...

'Relentless' Suzuki By Tas Racing

With the crew at Oulton Park at the weekend, and taking on the NW200 the week after, things have just started to get even crazier in the Relentless Suzuki camp!

Supersport Press.jpg

Be sure to check out all the latest action, including Ian and Michael's superbs podium finishes at Silverston, at http://www.relentless-suzuki.com or alternatively at http://www.britishsuperbikes.com the official site for the Bennetts British Superbikes series as sponsored by Relentless, where there is currently a competition running with the chance to win a track day for 2 with Ian and Michael later this summer. A track day with the 2 boys heading the Supersport table at this early stage of the season ... sweet eh? We think so.

Hope to see you on the road soon. Until then keep it Relentless, keep it No Half Measures.

Our boy's best ever result yesterday - 4th overall out of 20 riders in his class. Rumour has it there was a European champ in there somewhere. Nothing like taking out the ringer George! And yes mate .... we totally dig the hot wheels and helmet! Sweet work bro. Sweet work.

Another 'Relentless' Weekend Trackside

Bitter sweet best sums up our Sunday at Thruxton ... but with a considerable emphasis on the sweet!

Check out http://www.relentless-suzuki.com for the full race report on Michael's class showing and Ian's unlucky break. As we keep telling the lads - Michael's not even allowed to change his pants this week for risk of ruining his lucky streak, and for Ian, as we say "what doesn't bust you up just makes you stronger". Bro, your time is just around the corner. Everybody knows it.

Respekt to our riders and the team that are making this spring so damn sweet for us all in the viewing gallery! Until Silverstone and rerunning the fun with our boyz trackside.

Lots to look at on the grid...

What A Day For 'Relentless' Suzuki by TAS

A debut on the tarmac to dream of... 42,000 bear witness at Brands ....

Take the dictionary definition of Relentless and that's what the boys from Relentless Suzuki by TAS served up today. No Half Measures commitment and cojones by the bucket load and 1st and 3rd on the podium to show for their efforts. A race packed with excitement and incident - with team rider Michael taking a hell of a spill only to get back on the spare bike and take the flag. Suffer for your art ... and then some! Mr Laverty, Mr Lowry ... Warrior Poets the pair of you.

Action shots from the day to follow in due course (...anybody with shots of Michaels lap 12 high side please get in touch!) but in the meantime we have a few photos to set the scene of what was a truly memorable day as Relentless kicked off its sponsorship of the Bennetts British Championships in style, but entirely eclipsed by the achievemnts of the Relentless Suzuki By TAS team in the paddock and on the track. We looked the business, we did the business. (Cue the swelling of pride in the chest!) Roll on Thruxton ... can't wait, won't wait!

No Half Measures ... and then some.

Latest From the World Of 'Relentless' MX

Well it's been a hell of a few weeks for our MX crew. The season is well up and running and the Relentless posse are well into their stride. A few highlights from the last few weeks include...

X Air.jpg

The 'Relentless Suzuki Trio' have been getting stuck in 'on tour'. Ahead of Round 3 of the British Champs Lewis Gregory signalled his pedigree on the European MX2 stage securing a 5th overall after a classy weekend at the series opener in France. For a man that missed last season thru a nasty knee injury he showed some great fitness in race 2 taking a very tidy 4th and looking particularly strong through the latter stages. Respekt.

Lewis.jpg

Meanwhile young Jamie Law kicked off the British U21s at Matchams with a sweet 2nd and a 3rd to leave him well placed in 2nd overall. Alex Snow's steady 14th in Race 2 leaves our two U21 boys carrying some good momentum into Round 2 in Whiteway Barton Devon next weekend. Youth, talent and No Half Measures application. We gotta alota time for that. Great work fellas!

Jamie.jpg

Alex.jpg

Of course, on top of the recent travelling, last Sunday was all about Lyng and Round 3 of the Maxxis British Champs (in association with yours truly, Relentless). The boys did well with Lewis 6th and Jamie's 9th in race 2 of particular note. In a damn competitive field (MX2 is fierce!) the boys are showing good consistency creating a sound platform from which to build over the rest of the season. Roll on Langrish and round 4 eh Rob!

X Rob.jpg

Billy Mac has taken the British Maxxis MX1 Champs by the cojones and after a sweet weekend in Lyng is now sitting pretty (kinda...) at the top of the Championship pile. His first race win in his second 'sejour' (...that's french that is!) on Sunday leaving him on a sweet 159 pts ahead of the chasing De Dycker and Crockard. Nicework Braveheart. Very nice work.

A Billy On It.jpg

Lastly Suzuki Swift's Sean Hamblin's 12th in Race 2 at the first round of the Worlds in Holland suggests good things for this Relentless sponsored team in the weeks and months ahead. A busy team on the track, Relentless some might say...

'Relentless Suzuki' Out Of The Blocks Fast At Kirkistown

Kirkistownmotorcycleracing1.jpg

Well the TAS boyz got off to a cracking start to the season on board their new 'Relentless Suzukis' at Sunday's St Patrick's Day Short Circuit meeting at Kirkistown.

RLESS-14.jpg

An official line on the day from the Belfast Telegraph reads as follows :

"Michael Laverty made his new team debut in style with a double taking the Invitation Race by 1.1 seconds from team-mate Ian Lowry and the first Supersport 600 National race from Aussie visitor Cameron Donald.

RLESS-3.jpg

In the Feature Race, Laverty set a hot pace from the change of the lights to the chequered flag as Scottish rider Keith Amor, on his Robinson Concrete Honda, battled with his team-mate, Cameron Donald, who got past him at half distance to complete the podium places. Behind the first four, Ryan Rainey slotted into fifth place ahead of Adrian Archibald on the third Relentless Suzuki.

Kirkistownmotorcycleracing3.jpg

After taking the win, Laverty said: 'I knew that the Supersport 600 Bike was fast enough and kept the head down and went for the win. It feels good to be back in a winning vein.' Earlier in the day, Laverty had broken the Supersport 600 lap record for the Co Down circuit with a speed of 95.124mph as he beat Cameron Donald and Keith Amor.

RLESS-9.jpg

Ian Lowry kept up the Relentless dominance with a win over Ryan Rainey and Keith Amor in the First National Superbike Race."

Basically, the boys are on fire!. Great times ahead this season for sure- on the track and on the roads! See you at Brands for the BSB season opener! Keep it Relentless.

Relentless' Big Week Out In Val D

XBOXBDO1.jpg

Well the 20hr drive to Val D was about as Relentless as it gets - good job we brought lashings of our stay awake juice! Then, once in resort who could have anticipated the No Half Measures snow fall - talk about de heavens opening man! What comp could honestly have survived that??? But at the end of it all we had a rockin time in the Relentless chalet, we loved our sessions in the powder with Jon, Tom, Gary, Tyler and co, and at the end of the day found ourselves suitably entertained by our nights on the tiles tuckin' in to the local hospitality! (Well at least until somebody served me a dirty glass ... honest guys I can hold my Jeigermeister!!!!)

You will of course be able to find out all about the weeks stand out performances on all the snowboard forums but our side here's a few photographic memories from the week with the odd podcast to follow in the days ahead.

Back at Relentless Chalet HQ ... the card sessions got serious ... Mr West's poker face particularly impressive...

The Last Few Months With Big JW

For all of you keen to know how Jon's been since his nasty accident earlier this year ... our boy's been busy!

" Well what a strange couple of months... Following the launch of Hungerpain last year I was all stoked and set up for an an amazing winter. Unfortunately on Valentines Day (I know, I should have been home reading all my cards) I was out riding the park when, well, I managed to break my neck. That left me with this rather dashing scar..

JW Scar.jpg

The doc opened me up by the windpipe (then moved it ... kinda painful) and took out the joint between c5 and c6. My amazing doc went on to replace this little joint with bone from my hip, then covered c5 and c6 with titanium. I am now officially bionic! So, what of the rest of the winter? In short I spent most of it filming the Forum and Hungerpain crew, getting fit and strong again in the gym (saying hello to my little friends...) and at the end of it all I managed to squeeze in a bit of travel heading to Lake Tahoe for some more filming....
JW Lake Tahoe.JPG

Gotta say while out there a couple of american chicks liked me and one of my riders and they left us these rather groovy love letters.....
JW The Funny Letters.jpg
... funny times....

Oh yeah, lest I forget, this winter I also got round to organising a team week for Forum in Austria when all the Forum riders from around the world came and shredded.....
JW Flying High.jpg

We had all kinda of games after riding including this war game....
JW Sharp Shooter.jpg
... might be one those 'you had to be there moments' but what the hell!

So what of life this summer. Well, been chilling, been running and been spending hour after hour in the gym trying to get strong again (say hello to my bigger friends!). In between time I also went to see Deep Purple for some serious rock....

I also went off on holiday to get some sun and prepare for the coming winter with my girlfriend (who will now soon find out about the love letters .... doh!... I didn't do anything Baby!... can I help it if I'm a little bit irristible?)
