The finale to my core sports summer, the Animal Windfest, took place over the weekend to glorious sunshine in Bournemouth and it was a corker! Relentless took along Pete King's newest mini ramp and adorned it with demo's from the likes of UK skate champ Chris Oliver, Trevor Johnson and Ross Faulkner.

BMX'ers Ashley Charles and Paul Jeffries went insane during Sunday's demo's and a very special guest appearance from the Jackson Brothers, Will and Andy made the afternoon even more of a treat.

On Saturday night Relentless band, Haunts played an incredible set. Their special guest appearance went down a storm and I think the boys have secured a firm South Coast following! More pics from the event will be put up as they roll in....Lynchie

UKSA Champs - The dust settles.....

Written by Kevin Parrott

"We can't thank everyone enough for the support over this weekend"
chris-kickflip.jpg

The turnout at the Uk's first UKSA Champs included more of the UK's pro's and am's than I personally have seen in a long time at an event.
Without those guys and the amazing crowd making all the noise they could on the day, this event wouldn't have gone off with such a banging first year.
We've got to thank Vans , Relentless , Independent Trucks , Flip Skateboards , Casio G-Shock , Skullcandy , Tech Deck and Protec for their support, too. They've been invaluable over the past months whilst we organise this.

Congratulations to Chris Oliver, Sam Beckett, Paul Luc-Ronchetti, Claire Alleaume and the rest of the folk who managed to take the £10,000 purse off of our hands.

The cheers of appreciation for the skaters at the National Championships this weekend are still ringing in my ears as the media begins to roll on and do what they do best...

Check out Sidewalk Magazines footage (Which went up about 6 hours after the event!) of the first round of qualifiers - www.sidewalkmag.com

Roll on 2009.

The Animal Windfest returns to Poole this weekend for 3 days of action sports and music. For the first time at Windfest Relentless will deliver a skate & BMX mini ramp & demo with a selection of the country's best hosting. Pete King leads the skate crew and local Ashley Charles is getting ready to join Relentless Rider Pete Jeffries and others on BMX.

The festival also includes kitesurfing, wakeboarding and of course the notorious Animal Relentless Mountain Bike Tour. I've checked the weather report and it's looking good - so see you there!

SMITH BACK ON THE PODIUM

Bradley Smith bounced back to form and almost secured that first grand prix victory in the 23 lap 125 cc at Grand Prix of San Marino and Riviera of Rimini at Misano.

At the finish Smith had to settle for second place after a tremendous battle with World Champion Gabor Talmacsi but was delighted to secure his first podium finish since the French Grand Prix in May.

Riding at the home track of his Polaris World Aprilia team, Smith led from the start but Hungarian Talmacsi who had dominated practice and qualifying soon led the way in the sweltering conditions. The two leaders opened a big advantage over the pursuing pack and Smith re-took the lead when the Champion made a rare mistake at half distance.

Talmacsi fought back and once back in the lead pulled away to secure his second victory of the season which means he still has a slight chance of retaining his title with Championship leader Mike Di Meglio crashing out for the first time this season.

*Shels are back....makin' a difference!

*Shels are back in Europe this November playing a series of club gigs around the South of the UK. They will be testing a new concept of setting up in and around the venue floors and playing amongst the fans for utmost initimacy.

Reading and Leeds - take no prisoners!

This year's festivals were truly a double sided coin. As the heaven's opened over Leeds creating a mud bath a fussy pig would have been proud of, Reading basqued in warm August rays and treated the revellers to a beautiful weekend. With one of the heaviest line-ups to date, the Relentless crew descended apon the weekend with a fist full of metal and the will to rock. Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Tenacious D and Gallows were our highlights. Our boys In Case of Fire also did us proud too....Pendulum set the tent on fire, and Chromeo got the whole marquee jumping with a rendition of Dire Straights classic, 'Money for Nothing'...Big shout out to the Ultimate Power guys who played a giant set of power ballad madness in the Relentless guest area. That brings our festival season to a close, and what was truly an epic Relentless summer. Stay tuned for our very own No Half Measures tour and snowboarding and music fiesta the London Freeze coming your way very soon! Relent-Les
