Double Victory for Andrew Jordan
Relentless Driver Andrew Jordan was one of the stars of the day in the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park this weekend .
In only his third weekend of BTCC racing, Andrew battled with the biggest names in the championship in some truly challenging conditions to twice win the Independent Trophy and take a fifth and a sixth place overall.
Having had a mixed start to his debut season due to issues with the car amongst others, this weekends results come as a great boost to his campaign and shows signs of great things to come.

Qualifying on Saturday had been disappointing after both cars ran well within the top 10 times during free practice. But from 12th on the grid, Andrew was soon charging up the order in the opening race on his way to an eventual fifth overall and first Independent.

It seemed like it was going wrong for Andrew at the start of the second race when his engine cut as he moved into fifth place on the grid. "Then the starter wouldn't engage, so I sat there on the grid waving frantically. But finally it re-started," he said after the start was briefly delayed.
By now, the track was pretty damp and the drivers struggled to retain control on an incredibly slippery track. "Everyone was trying to go a little bit quicker than they were able to," said Andrew, who ran in the top five in the early laps before taking a secure sixth overall and another Independents' victory.
"I didn't really have the pace in the damp to go with the factory cars," he said. "The track was so slippery. Then with a good gap to Adam Jones, I was just keeping a consistent pace and watching where he was. It would have been pointless chasing the factory cars and risking going off when I knew I didn’t have the pace in those conditions."

The third and final race of the season started with Andrew 3rd on the grid and after the first few laps briefly nudged his way into 2nd place before spinning at McLeans. In typical Jordan fashion Andrew rejoined the race and started battling with the back markers but unfortunately was forced to retire with throttle problems.
All in all a great meeting for Andy and the team and is an indicaton of things to come from arguably the sports finest up and coming star!
Well done from all the team at Relentless HQ! (Pezzle)
