GREGORY & SNOW RELENTLESS AT BRAMPTON
It was a weekend of top-ten action for the Team 'Relentless' Suzuki riders at Brampton in Cumbria this weekend, as round seven of the British Championship commenced.
With all three team riders looking for championship progress, Alex Snow was the first to climb into the points, riding strongly and consistently in race one to cross the line in eighth spot.
Team-mate Lewis Gregory had even higher hopes early in the first race, gating well and chasing down the eventual podium sitters, before becoming stuck in a mud-hole and dropping to 12th place by the flag. Despite encouraging progress, Jamie Law crashed out of race one and never quite managed to regain composure.
Race two was to see a reverse of fate for Snow and Gregory, after Alex damaged his gear lever in a rut and dropped to 22nd by the finish line. An improved start in race two saw Lewis at the sharp end of the race, before a small slip saw him cross the line in eighth position.
Team manager Rob Hooper commented, “Despite a few set-backs it was an encouraging weekend for us. Jamie’s crash didn’t help his confidents, but Alex and Lewis showed they have the speed, and can run at the sharp end of what is a fiercely competitive class this year.
As well as competition in the British Championship, Lewis and Alex competed in the UK Floodlit Motocross Series at Hopwood Park last Wednesday taking the overall win and third place respectively.
And at schoolboy level, Relentless Suzuki supported rider Ben Field became the BSMA Senior Final Champion, following four wins and a third place result at the Brookthorpe circuit.
